Wanderlust-5 Year List: Trip #1

One of the things I love doing the most is traveling, even if it's just getting out of town for the weekend. This year on our anniversary I was 8 months pregnant so a trip was pretty much out of the question.

But don't worry...I have big BIG plans for all of our other anniversaries. What better excuse to travel than celebrating another year of icantbelievewemadeit wedded bliss.
I'm officially declaring that every year for our anniversary, the husband and I travel somewhere new. Hopefully the husband will agree.

God willing we have 50+ anniveraries left and way more than 50 new places I want to visit. And don't worry...once a year family trips will happen too, but they get their own list:)

So without further adieu...MY 5 year Wanderlust List beginning with Trip #1:

FRANCE

Paris

Palace of Versailles

Nice

Cannes
Source

Mont St-Michel and the beaches of Normandy

Although I've been to all these places except Mont St-Michel, I can't wait to experience them with my husband.

The Moistest Chocolate Cake Ever

First off, I'm not sure how I feel about using the word moist. Some people can't stand the word so if that's you, I'm sorry, but there really is no other way to describe this cake.

Since this pin has been haunting me forever on Pintrest, I figured it was about time I make it. Truth is, I'm not much of a chocolate cake person (I prefer vanilla), but the husband loves it and people at work will eat just about anything, so one way or another this cake was getting eaten.

The directions on the original pin weren't that clear so hopefully this well help those of you who are like me and needed a little more clarification.

What You'll Need:
-1 box chocolate cake mix
-1 container of frosting
-1 cup sour cream
-1 4oz box of chocolate instant pudding(it's 3.9 oz to be exact)
-1/2 cup water
-1/2 cup vegetable oil
-4 eggs

Begin by placing the dry cake mix, dry pudding mix (this is part I was confused about: do not make the pudding, use the dry powder), sour cream, vegetable oil, water, and eggs in large bowl.

Mix thoroughly.

Place 1/2 of the mixture into a well greased round pan. You could also bake this in a 9x13 but I wanted a double layer cake. This batter is also not as runny as normal cake mix so it's a little more difficult to spread out.

Bake at 350 degrees for 27-30 minutes. Mine took exactly 27 minutes, but if you are making 1 larger cake, it may require more time.

Let the cakes cool for a few minutes and then transfer onto a wire rack to finish cooling.

Once the cakes are cooled, frost those bad boys and serve.
Enjoy!

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day was filled with lots of love and a few of my favorite things.

Have you all tried the new frozen cherry limeades from Panera? They are delicious and will be perfect throughout the hot Summer.

I got this candle from my sister. It smells AMAZING!! Even un-lit, it smells up my entire kitchen.

Lots of sweet cards.

And this gorgeous hanging plant from the husband.

No Mother's Day would be complete without this little man. Love him so much.

Hope you all mommas had a wonderful day!

Things I've Learned...

from being a boy mom.

1. Little boys can be just as dramatic as little girls.

2. They can also change outfits 5 times until they find the perfect one.

3. All the Power Rangers names.

4. They will pee on you. Whether they are 2 months old or 2 years old.

5. Sometimes they have more energy than you know what to do with.

6. It's important to teach them it's okay for boys to cry.

7. Sometimes you'll want to cry right along with them.

8. Discipline can be really really hard.

9. Farts are funny.

10. No matter how much you love them, some days bed time can't come soon enough.

11.  One more time really means 50 more times.

12. Cuddle and give kisses often.

13. How to perfect the perfect spider man web shooter hand.

14. Jeans will get holes in the knees.

15. There is silliness in the most ordinary things.

16. Time really does go too fast.

17. There are way more cute girl clothes than boys.
