Things I've Learned...

from being a boy mom.

1. Little boys can be just as dramatic as little girls.

2. They can also change outfits 5 times until they find the perfect one.

3. All the Power Rangers names.

4. They will pee on you. Whether they are 2 months old or 2 years old.

5. Sometimes they have more energy than you know what to do with.

6. It's important to teach them it's okay for boys to cry.

7. Sometimes you'll want to cry right along with them.

8. Discipline can be really really hard.

9. Farts are funny.

10. No matter how much you love them, some days bed time can't come soon enough.

11.  One more time really means 50 more times.

12. Cuddle and give kisses often.

13. How to perfect the perfect spider man web shooter hand.

14. Jeans will get holes in the knees.

15. There is silliness in the most ordinary things.

16. Time really does go too fast.

17. There are way more cute girl clothes than boys.

18. Stepping on Lego and Matchbox cars hurt.

19. Attend as many school events as possible. It means a lot to them.

20. Say I love you until they are so annoyed they ask you to stop. Then say it some more.

21. It is possible to watch Toy Story, Cars, and Spiderman (1, 2, &3) at least 20 times each.

22. They want to help cook in the kitchen. Encourage it.

23. You can't walk faster than a 4 year old can peddle a bike.

24. Take them to musicals and the theatre. Even if it's just Elmo Live.

25. You will make mistakes. Often.

26. He will still love you anyway.

27. Wrestling isn't just for daddy.

28. Sitting in the grocery cart verses walking while getting a week's worth of groceries is a must.

29. It's wild and crazy fun.

30. You will say and do things you always vowed you'd never do.

31. Girl crushes develop early.

32. Sometimes they just need their mom.

33. Listen to their stories.

34. Have slumber parties in bed.

35. No one will ever love them like their mother.

Symphony Brownies

Also known as "The brownies that seem like they take a long to make, but don't and are totally delicious."

This might be one of the easiest recipes ever. It only requires a few ingredients and the prep time is 5 minutes. And trust me, everyone will think you spent way more than 5 minutes making these.

What you'll need:
-1 box brownie mix (and the items on the box to make them. eggs, oil, water)
-3 XL Hershey's Symphony Bars
-9 x 13in baking pan

Begin by mixing the brownies according to the directions on the box.

Next, divide your batter in half. I just eye balled it. Pour half the batter into a greased 9 x 13in pan.

Place the 3 hershey's bars vertically in the pan.

Pour the remaining half of the batter over the top of the bars.

Bake according to the directions on the box. I ended up leaving mine in about 5 minutes longer.

Once the brownies are cooled, cut, serve, and ENJOY!

Easter Mania

Besides the obvious reason to love Easter, JESUS, there are many other things that make this holiday so special.

First of all, does it get any cuter than this? Look at their little bunny faces.

I love all the cute Easter decorations. I'm hoping I can add to my pathetic stash of decorations during the after holiday sales.

I'll be trying this activity out with the little guy soon. Hide small glow sticks in Easter eggs, turn out the lights, and go hunting!

I also think these would be so cute to send out to the grandparents.

I really want to make a wreath like this one from Carolina Charm. This would be great not only for Easter, but throughout Spring.

This weekend I am determined to find a cute dress for Easter. I'm thinking something like this

Or this

And what holiday would be complete without a cute and tasty treat.

Any Easter ideas I'm missing out on?

Lions and Tigers and...

A Fox?

What I thought was a dog turned out to be this.

Our house backs up to the woods, but we by no means live in the country so to see this mangy thing hanging out in our cul-de-sac was quite a shock.

Hopefully he doesn't mistake our neighbors pug for an afternoon snack.
